the Red Wings have played very well,winning two of three in Western Canada,losing only in Vancouver,to the Canucks,and the score of that game(4-1,Vancouver)included two empty net goals,by the Canucks... the Red Wings are in third place,right now,as i type this,three points behind the Tampa Bay Lightning,and seven points ahead of the fourth place Boston Bruins... the Red Wings lead the NHL in power play goals,and,right now,have the second best power play-percentage wise... the Red Wings are 22-10-9,so far,and in my opinion,have only stunk up the joint a couple of times,this season... after a quick Flames' 1-0 lead,in the first period,the Red Wings scored three unanswered goals,to go up,3-1,and only a beautiful pass and short-handed goal,by the Flames,early in the third period,made it close,but the Red Wings who are 13-0-2,after two periods smothered the Flames the rest of the way,in the game... an deliberate elbow,by the Calgary Flames' Curtis Glencross to the goaltender mask of Petr Mrazek,with 1:20 left in game,that knocked off the mask(a rather dirty move) disallowed maybe the tying goal... the referees blew the whistle,and waved off the "goal",just before the horn that went off for the goal,and then the fans started to throw water bottles onto the ice,as they were very unhappy,with the call... however,that is hockey,not every call goes the fans' way,and it was a very good call,period...
