commentary...

for a team who lost injured players to a NHL best(or is it worst) 243 man-games,the Red Wings had a great season... a man-game lost to injury just means that players on the main roster lost 243 games,in a 48 game season, and there were three players,(Darren Helm,Mikael Samuelsson, and Todd Bertuzzi),who combined for only twelve games played, all season due to injury... to take this Red Wings team to the second round of the Stanley Cup playoffs,Red Wings' head coach Mike Babcock did his best job of coaching, without a doubt, and was not even nominated for the Jack Adams Trophy(coach of the year)... that little fact is a total robbery...

commentary...

as of right now, since the Red Wings got bounced by the Blackhawks in this year's Stanley Cup Playoffs, for me,next year starts now,and the Red Wings are now in the Eastern Conference,so i will root for the Pittsburgh Penguins to win the Stanley Cup... i do not like the defending Stanley Cup Champion Los Angeles Kings,or the team that bounced the Red Wings, the Chicago Blackhawks... i believe an oddity has happened this year:the last four teams left in the Stanley Cup playoffs(Pittsburgh Penguins(2009),Chicago Blackhawks(2010),Boston Bruins(2011),and Los Angeles Kings(2012)) are the last four teams to win the Stanley Cup,and by the way,the Detroit Red Wings won Stanley Cup five years ago,in 2008...

commentary...

as a true hardcore fan of the beautiful game of hockey, there is no way that you can gripe about a game seven overtime win,or loss, and if you really gloat,or gripe about the win,or loss, you are a bad winner,or even a bad loser... i have personal experience on both ends of the spectrum, and both are bad places to be... i have to double tip my hat to the Chicago Blackhawks for a simply great series with the Red Wings... THEY REALLY EARNED IT....

commentary...

to NBC,and their studio crew, you call the penalty, when there is a penalty... if there was a penalty shot(from a penalty)called in game six, then you call the penalty in game seven,no matter if there was a goal scored right after a called penalty was assessed, and no matter if there is less than two minutes to play,in third period,in game seven... you have said that the penalty shot was called correctly, and then you said the roughing penalty called on both teams was a bad call, when the Blackhawks scored what appeared to be the series-winning goal... there is a reason that i hardly ever listen to NBC,when hockey is on,because of the blatant bias of the announcers, and, now, the studio crew... you guys are pure hypocrites, period!!!!!!!!!!!

Blackhawks escape 2-1....

Blackhawks 2,Red Wings 1,overtime... WHAT A SERIES... HAT TIP TO THE BLACKHAWKS... THEY REALLY EARNED IT... the Red Wings and Blackhawks went seven rough and tumble games, and game seven went to overtime... both teams should be very proud of their efforts... i will applaud the Blackhawks, being a true fan of the beautiful game of hockey, and be very, very proud of the team that i root for very hard-the Detroit Red Wings-and give them the ultimate respect, because they fought like true champions, and that is all the true hardcore fan of hockey should need,or want,in a team...

Red Wings' news...

Red Wings/Blackhawks,game seven,Western Conference semifinals,tonight... loser goes home... if Blackhawks win, they host Kings,in a seven game series;home ice goes to Chicago... if Red Wings win, they are on the road, against the Los Angeles Kings;home ice goes to Los Angeles...

Tuesday, May 28, 2013

Justin Williams 2,Dan Boyle 1(Kings 2,Sharks 1)...

Los Angeles Kings 2,San Jose Sharks 1... Justin Williams had two goals, for the Kings, and Dan Boyle had one goal, for the Sharks... both goaltenders(Jonathan Quick, for the Kings, and Antti Niemi, for the Sharks)had outstanding games, but Quick was one goal better,in goal...

commentary...

several pundits have called the first ten minutes,of the third period,of last night's Blackhawks/Red Wings game,as a "meltdown",and a "turning point" in the series... i honestly disagree 100%,because Chicago just took advantage of Red Wings' mistakes in front of the net,and in front of Red Wings' goaltender Jimmy Howard... the reason that i really disagree is the fact that even after the penalty shot that put Chicago up by two goals, the Red Wings kept fighting, and even scored in last minute,to close out the scoring... the looks on their faces, and lack of comments from some of the Red Wings about the third period misfortune really spoke volumes, about the character of this Red Wings team... the Red Wings will fight to the final horn,of game seven, before giving up,and they seem to be very pissed at themselves more than at their bad luck, during a game that was a very good game between rivals...

commentary...

i will give the Blackhawks proper due,and they did out-play the Red Wings,in game five, and game six,but before you give the seven game series,by default,to Chicago, let me remind of some things that may give Detroit some focus:it will be the last Central Division game ever, between them, and Detroit will play better in game seven, and even though the Blackhawks will be at home,in Chicago, they better come with their A-game,because the Red Wings may lose, but they will not just fold... my opinion:they will play their best game of the season, and i will not be surprised if the Red Wings win,but again,i will not be surprised if the Blackhawks win, either, because game sevens are unpredictable, and there is one fact you may remember:Red Wings did beat Anaheim,in ANAHEIM,in game seven in their last series, this playoff season... so Chicago may be favored, and they should be,but expect the game to go into overtime, before the game ends, and one more little fact:the Red Wings were 3-1,in overtime, against the Ducks... just something to remember...

Red Wings' game score,and comments...

Blackhawks 4,Red Wings 3... a very good third period, for the Blackhawks, and a very bad third period for the Red Wings, enough said... penalty shot, given by referees,to Chicago, made difference.... game seven,Wednesday,May 29,2013,in Chicago...

comments...

it appears that the Blackhawks will win game six,one reason:the referees just gave the Blackhawks a very, very cheap penalty shot for a 4-2 lead... i hate referees....

Red Wings' game score,and commentary...

Blackhawks 4,Red Wings 1... the Red Wings came out flat as a pancake, and after the first period, got pummeled, and steamrolled,by the Blackhawks... Red Wings' goaltender Jimmy Howard had not his usual good game, but honestly, the team defense around him allows three,or even all four,tap-in goals,in front of Howard, you know it was not a good night for Detroit... Chicago even took unnecessary runs at Red Wings' players going to their bench throughout the game,so the Red Wings should remember that little fact, come Monday, should be mad at themselves, but also at the Blackhawks, and i expect that it will be a nasty dogfight,Monday... game six,Monday...

commentary...

i can not figure out San Jose,or even Chicago... the Sharks fought like dogs to even their series,at two,but then laid a egg in Los Angeles, playing against the Los Angeles Kings, giving up two goals in about four minutes of game time, and then did nothing the rest of the game,as the Kings shut down the Sharks' offense, like a clamp on a bleeding artery... i really do not blame Sharks' goaltender Antti Niemi:he has given up only four goals,in last three games, and yet,the Sharks are down three games to two, going back to the "Shark Tank",in San Jose... they better ramp up their anemic offense... if they do,they have a chance... as for the Blackhawks, they have scored only two goals,in three games, and have lost three games,in regulation, for the first time all season... the Red Wings have not lighted up the scoreboard, but have out-scored the Blackhawks,9-2,in the last three games, and in the series,10-6,overall... what has happened to the President's Trophy winner(best record in the NHL),this season... down 3-1,in the best of seven series, against the Red Wings, when Detroit was a big underdog, going into the series is a huge disappointment... Chicago has to win all three games, remaining,in the series,if they can get to game seven, but honestly, the way that they are playing,it will be a very big hill to climb,period...

commentary...

i have to give the San Jose Sharks much credit to tie their best of seven second round series, against the defending Stanley Cup Champion Los Angeles Kings,at two games apiece... even though i am not a fan of the Sharks(and i am not, seriously),they have grit that most teams this time of year have, and that is a very good thing, but now it is a best of three series,to move onto the Western Conference Finals, but unfortunately,if it goes seven games, two games of the final three games are in Los Angeles... there is an old saying that the series does not really start until a team loses at home, and neither has,in this series... there was some nastiness in game four in this series,so the team that stays out of the penalty box, will win this series... mark my words, because both teams have potent power plays, and whomever scores on the power play will most likely will win... both teams also crash the net,and the one who does it the best will win the series, and yet, both teams have team snipers to shoot the puck from long distance, and expect the goaltenders to be busy, and the best team will win,but never forget the odd bounce of the puck, and sometimes that decides the series,too... example,in 2006,when the eighth seeded Edmonton Oilers beat the top seeded Red Wings,in the Stanley Cup playoffs, game five, that series, was decided by a deflection of the puck off the mostly reliable stick of captain Nicklas Lidstrom, over the Red Wings' goaltender, and won game 3-2;game six:Edmonton scored on a controversial power play goal, off the skate of Ales Hemsky, with 3:53,left in the third period, and then Hemsky doomed Detroit with another goal, with 1:06,left,to win game,4-3,and win series, four games to two games... i sat there, absolutely stunned, and heartbroken... that series still haunts me... for your information,Edmonton lost to the Carolina Hurricanes,in the Stanley Cup Finals that year... so before you celebrate, remember that it is a best of seven series, and it is tied at two games apiece...

Tuesday, May 21, 2013

commentary...

the game between the Red Wings, and the Blackhawks,by Gustav Nyquist and Drew Miller, was a rough and tumble affair, like normally the games between the two teams have been in the past... both goaltenders had first periods to remember, and were on their games, and the simple fact that both teams were snippy,to say the least, made it a very, very interesting game to watch... two goals in thirty one seconds,in the second period made the Blackhawks irritable, and upped the tension between the two teams going into the third period... the third period was controversial,at least, for the Blackhawks... Patrick Kane scored on a beautiful breakaway, just after a blown boarding call by Niklas Hjalmarsson,on Johan Franzen(a penalty that was not called, and it was definitely a penalty),and then Andrew Shaw appeared to even the score,at two,but referees called goalie interference on Shaw,to disallow the goal(to tell you the truth,it should have counted, but Shaw was in the crease throughout, and really did not interfere with Howard, but was the opinion,of the referees that he did interfere with Howard(a real skimpy call on Shaw,i have to admit),but it appeared to be a call that was a make up call on the Blackhawks, for the blatant non-penalty call on Franzen... unfortunately, for the Blackhawks, who had dominated early in the third period,by out-shooting the Red Wings,7-0,the first shot for the Red Wings in the third period, was a howitzer,by one Pavel Datsyuk, under the crossbar, just almost identical to the one he scored, against the Anaheim Ducks,to make it,3-1,and it came just seconds, after the Blackhawks had apparently had evened the score, but that goal by the Blackhawks was disallowed, and the third goal by Datsyuk really made the Blackhawks feel cheated(on both questionable calls, both teams got hosed)... the last half of the third period, was a parade to the penalty box for the seemingly frustrated, and angry Blackhawks, and to tell you the absolute truth,i loved the parade...

correction...

i corrected the previous post in noting that the $25,000 fine given to the Sharks was a violation of League rules that prohibit formal complaints,or team statements within 48 hours of a disciplinary decision of a player... i did not state it clearly enough...

NHL news...

the San Jose Sharks were fined $100,000 for comments by general manager Doug Wilson, about Raffi Torres' series long suspension(suspended for rest of second round),for his hit on Jarret Stoll... the violation calls for a $25,000 fine for the comments within forty eight hours after the named suspension, and the Sharks was fined $75,000,for the nature of the comments,by Wilson...

commentary...

after a very slow start, again,in the first period, the Red Wings were ripe for a beating, and yet, they dominated the Blackhawks after that... Chicago scored their only goal on a three on one breakaway,by Patrick Kane, that Red Wings' goaltender Jimmy Howard had virtually had no chance to stop-the only mistake that the Red Wings, and Howard made all day... the Red Wings scored twice,by Damien Brunner, and Brendan Smith,in the second period, and then Johan Franzen, and Valtteri Filppula scored in the third period,to close out the scoring in the game... the Blackhawks looked fat and happy, and not motivated to put the Red Wings away, when they had them by the proverbial throat, after the first period,today... the Red Wings got tired of being the proverbial punching bag,as the Blackhawks had won eight games, dating back to last year,so they clamped down their team defense,as they pounded on Jonathan Toews, all day,not allowed him any space, and Chicago seemed to simply run out of gas,and was frustrated by the Red Wings' close checking,on their major stars, all day... there were people booing at the end of the game, for the Blackhawks' lackluster effort,today... best of seven series, tied,at one...

commentary...

i usually go through the goals, and comment on the tenor of the game, and yet, today,i will not do that,at least not in the same way... have to talk about the play of the game, made by Brent Seabrook,of the Blackhawks, late in the third period... let me set up the shot:during the last four minutes,of the game,Red Wings, down 3-1,and a scrum ensues, and someone tips puck off the crossbar, and as the puck drops toward the net,and goal line,Seabrook swats puck with a backhand,in mid-air,away from the goal line... even though the Red Wings looked beat before that, they were coming on(in one of the very few times, last night),that was possibly the best play of the entire playoffs... i even tipped my hat on that... the Blackhawks did look like the best team in the NHL,last night, and the Red Wings looked jittery throughout the game, and have to play much better,in the best of seven series... it seemed to me that the Red Wings looked just happy to be in the second round, after beating Anaheim, and to tell you the truth, that will never do,because the Blackhawks are determined to win the Stanley Cup,or bust, this season... going through the goals,in the game, except for Marian Hossa,on the first Blackhawks' goal, and Patrick Sharp, who scored the empty net goal to close out scoring, neither team had their stars do that much, and for Chicago,it is very scary, because they simply have much more firepower,i hate to admit, but honestly,if the Red Wings can play better defense, around Red Wings' goaltender Jimmy Howard, and if Howard can play like his usual self,in goal, the Red Wings have chance to compete in this series... the Red Wings can play better, but so can the Blackhawks, but Chicago has the edge,in firepower, and that may be enough to beat the Red Wings,at least,in this best of seven series... i have watched the Red Wings all season(47 of the 48 games on television;all of the games at least on radio),and every playoff game, and they have one weakness, and that is consistent scoring... defensively, they have been one of the surprises in the NHL,but they have struggled through stretches of lack of scoring, because of inexperience, and youth,on this season's team,on the back end... unfortunately,it gets tougher to win in the Stanley Cup playoffs, going onward, because you play other very good teams, and like i said earlier,i would put the Red Wings,as the longest shot,of the eight remaining teams in the Stanley Cup playoffs, and they do have the toughest road to hoe in the playoffs, because the Stanley Cup playoffs come down to matchups,in every round, and even though the Blackhawks, and the Red Wings meet for the last time,as Central Division rivals, and that should give the Red Wings more incentive to beat the Blackhawks, that also goes for the Blackhawks... the Red Wings must forget this game, and yet wake up,right now,and realize that they are in a dogfight... if not, they are in for a short series, and to tell you the truth, there is too much pride in "that locker room",to go out that way,period... i am a hardcore fan of the Red Wings, and of the beautiful game of hockey, and i am being realistic, more than anything, about this series... funny thing is that the Red Wings can win this series, but they better come out like a team really on a mission,to give the Blackhawks every thing they have and just bring their best game, and see what happens... let you remind of something:in 2010,the Philadelphia Flyers,a seventh seed that year, went to the Stanley Cup Finals(and they beat the Boston Bruins,in a historic series, after being down,0-3,in series),against Chicago, and lose in six wild games(no one could stop a puck,in goal, period),and last year,a eighth seed(Los Angeles Kings)won the Stanley Cup,and finally,in 2003,the Anaheim Mighty Ducks(now the Ducks)swept the defending Stanley Cup champion Red Wings(shut them out twice in series)and then set NHL history,by beating the Minnesota Wild(and allowing only one goal,in entire series),before losing to the New Jersey Devils,3-0,in game seven in the Stanley Cup playoffs, that year... just reminding you of history,folks...

commentary...

the Red Wings played a near-perfect defensive game, not allowing the Ducks too many chances to score, from in close to Red Wings' goaltender Jimmy Howard, but the Ducks were a scrappy bunch, and refused to quit, but honestly, the Red Wings' team defense was greatly improved over game six,in which the Ducks scored twice,in fifty one seconds,to get to a tie, late in third period, and then lost in overtime... now for the basics:Henrik Zetterberg scored in the first two minutes of the game to put Anaheim behind the eight-ball very early,1-0,and then the Ducks tied the game on a nice goal,by Emerson Etem, about eleven minutes later, but then an errant pass allowed Justin Abdelkader to swoop in on Ducks' goaltender Jonas Hiller,on a breakaway, for a short-handed goal that basically took the wind away from the crowd, and the Ducks, until almost the last five minutes of the game... the Red Wings scored what turned out to be the game winning goal,13:45,into the second period,by Valtteri Flippula,to increase their lead in the game to 3-1,after two periods, and the Red Wings played near-perfect defense, until Red Wings' captain Henrik Zetterberg put puck into crowd for delay of game, and a power play, for the Ducks, that ended with a goal by Francois Beauchemin, that went off Jonathan Ericcson's skate, behind Jimmy Howard,to close within 3-2,but the Ducks could not get any closer,as the Red Wings played smothering team defense the last few minutes of the game,as the Red Wings clamped down with very good team defense,in front of Howard,as the Red Wings won best of seven series, four games to three... the Red Wings advance to the second round, where they play the President's Trophy winning Chicago Blackhawks,in an Original Six matchup... the Blackhawks won all four games,in a very tough, and tight series(one game went into overtime, and one was decided in a shootout)...

the Red Wings almost blew the series late in the third period, when Anaheim scored two goals,in fifty one seconds, going from a 3-1 lead,to a tie,and then regrouped in sixty four seconds,of overtime, when the Red Wings scored a goal to win game... now for the basics:the Red Wings scored first when Pavel Datsyuk scored on a beautiful backhand into the net, over Ducks' goaltender Jonas Hiller... the Ducks tied it in the second period, when Kyle Palmieri was credited on a goal,as the puck deflected off the chest of Red Wings' defenseman Brendan Smith,as the puck rolled into the net on a bad rebound, and then the Ducks, and Red Wings traded goals in third period, when Henrik Zetterberg, and Dan Cleary scored first to stake the team to 3-1 lead, and then the Ducks scored two goals on two errant passes, and bad turnovers,as they tried to cycle the puck around their own net,as Emerson Etem and Bobby Ryan scored on great individual plays by them, fifty one seconds apart,to almost break the Red Wings' team heart,to send the game to overtime, but then, with sixty four seconds into overtime,Henrik Zetterberg scored on seeing eye rocket from about forty five feet past Hiller... Hiller really had no chance to stop the puck,as both teams had a scrum in front of Hiller,to try to block shot... the six games between the teams have been very close:four games going into overtime(Red Wings winning all their three games in series,in overtime),as it is the first time,in team history, that the Red Wings have had four different games in one series that went into overtime... game seven:Sunday night,May 12,2013...

commentary...

i am actually very proud of this year's Red Wings' team, because the team has been a very scrappy bunch... before this season, the Red Wings lost three major stars, two to retirement, and one via a trade,to a rival, and then during the season, they lost many of their other stars to injuries, long times off the ice,due to injury(what the NHL calls man-games,and they were in the top five,in that category),so they have had a very unlike Red Wings' season, and the fact that the NHL season was only 48 games made it tougher on the team... their offense struggled(their road power play went into their eleventh game, before they scored first road power play goal(Valtteri Flippula scored that one)... their team defense was sketchy the first half of the season, giving up soft goals, game after game,it seemed... the most valuable player on the team was,and is,goaltender Jimmy Howard, which means it was good and bad for the Red Wings most of the season... pundits thought that the Red Wings were toast, because of all of the factors, and quirks, going on throughout the season, but this team simply refused to lose... you,as a team, had to play them very tough games, because they had the firepower to surprise some teams(beating the Vancouver Canucks,8-2,and then 5-1,in their first two games that they played),but again, they could look like creampies(losing to the St. Louis Blues,6-0,opening night),on a night that i rather forget, but never will... the difference between this team and the other twenty one playoff teams that the Red Wings have had in this unbelievable playoff team streak of twenty two straight years of being in the Stanley Cup playoffs,is simply this team had more overall grit, simply refused to lose, and if you did beat them, you earned a very hard fought team victory... i will remember this team more than any other team, because this team had undeniable heart....

commentary...

honestly, last night's game between the Ducks and Red Wings was a strange game to watch, because for the first half of the game(before the ten minute mark,of second period),the Red Wings seemed to be a step slow,on team defense... in fact, the two goals scored by Anaheim were "basic" goals for them:go to the net, crash it,and hope for a mistake/rebound,and tap in the mistake, and they got lucky in bad rebounds, and or turnovers,in front of Red Wings' goaltender Jimmy Howard, and tapped in easy goals... to me,a tap in goal is a goal that is shot from within ten feet,or point blank range... the Red Wings actually never led in game until they won game,in overtime... Matt Beleskey, for the Ducks, scored in the first period, and then in the third period,Brendan Smith, for the Red Wings, scored early,to tie game,at one,and then David Steckel, for the Ducks, tapped in a bad rebound, amidst a scramble,as the Ducks went back up 2-1,but Pavel Datsyuk, for the Red Wings, scored on a howitzer of a shot that hit the back bar of the goal, and moved(popped up)the water bottle to send the game into overtime... after killing off a penalty,in overtime, the Red Wings came on strong, and Damien Brunner, for the Red Wings slapped, and tapped in a bad rebound to give the Red Wings the overtime win,and to send series, back to Anaheim tied at two games apiece... interesting series,so far...

NHL news...

Red Wings' player Justin Abdelkader has been suspended for two games for his unnecessary hit on the Anaheim Ducks' player Toni Lydman...

trivia...

what is the only NHL team,in NHL history,to have a "perfect" month, winning every game that month??? answer:the 2013 Pittsburgh Penguins, who won every game in March 2013,a 15-0 record...

commentary...

simply said, after the hit by Justin Abdelkader,at 4:49 left in the second period(mentioned earlier),the Red Wings allowed a goal on a five minute power play, and then the Red Wings simply played their worst third period of the playoffs, and season,by allowing three goals,in a lackluster 4-0 loss to the Anaheim Ducks,as the Ducks went up,two games to one,in their opening round series... the game was a rout after the hit,by Abdelkader, because the Ducks get very angry, and took the Red Wings down a notch... if you were a Red Wings' fan,you basically vomited in the toilet a number of times, during the game, and after it... it was as much fun as a root canal...

Saturday, May 4, 2013

commentary...

expect Red Wings' player Justin Abdelkader to be suspended for some games, for running over Ducks' player Toni Lydman, for a shoulder to head hit, with 4:49 left in the second period, and a five minute major penalty(intent to injure),game misconduct, and just an unnecessary hit... that got the Ducks riled up... Lydman did not return to the game, did have a headache, but appeared alright... on Abdelkader's side,on whether,or not,he gets suspended by NHL director of player safety Brendan Shanahan is the fact is that he has not been suspended for rough play before, and whether Lydman is severely injured(concussion?),or not,period...

commentary...

last night's game between the Anaheim Ducks, and the Red Wings was a good game... now for the basics:the Red Wings stormed out of the gate to a 2-0 lead, four minutes and twenty seconds into the game(Justin Abdelkader:forty eight seconds into game, and Damien Brunner scored in that time, and then Johan Franzen scored twice early in the second period, and, again, early in third period,as the Red Wings built up a 4-1 lead, with just under nineteen minutes to play in the game... the Ducks then stormed back with three goals in nine minutes, and forty eight seconds to tie the game,at four... Ducks' captain Ryan Getzlaf,Kyle Palmieri, and Bobby Ryan scored the three goals, and as it appeared that the Ducks had momentum going into overtime, but then the key play happened:a slashing penalty on Sheldon Souray,as he slashed Justin Abdelkader,to put the Red Wings on the power play thirty eight seconds left,in the game, which meant that the Red Wings were on the power play, going into overtime, and the Red Wings cashed in for the win, with a beautiful pass through traffic,by Valtteri Filppula,to Gustav Nyquist,1:20,into overtime, who lifted the puck over Ducks' goaltender Jonas Hiller, who had no chance to stop the soft shot, over his head... the Red Wings had control of the game until the third period, when they basically stopped "skating"(doing what they were doing, shooting, and chasing the puck, and playing good defense),and allowed the Ducks to get back into the game, and they did,by scoring three goals,in 9:48,until the key slashing penalty that allowed the Red Wings to cash in on the power play,in overtime, and win the game,to tie series,at one apiece,as both teams go back to Detroit, for game three and four...

commentary...

this may be odd to say,but giving up two goals in a regular season game is much different than in the playoffs... i have watched so many games in last twelve plus years that i can basically watch five minutes of legitimate game time, and tell you what goaltender,or team is having their best game, and then predict what team will win game(of course, with other factors,involved)... all three games last night were basically 2-1 games, even though Anaheim scored an empty net goal,in last minute,to make game 3-1,against the Detroit Red Wings, and all three home teams won last night, even though St. Louis won on a supreme gaffe,by the Los Angeles Kings' goaltender Jonathan Quick, behind the Kings' goal that allowed the Blues to score basically an empty net goal, while the Kings were on a four minute power play,in overtime... Jimmy Howard(Red Wings),Josh Harding(Minnesota Wild),and Jonathan Quick(Kings)had good games, but did not play their absolute best in goal(or even close),and in the Stanley Cup playoffs, you need to be focused on stopping the puck at all costs, and their opposing goalies,Jonas Hiller(Ducks),Corey Crawford(Chicago Blackhawks),and Brian Elliott(Blues)had the edge to win a tight,2-1,game,last night...
