in 1949-1950 season,Red Wings won Stanley Cup,without Gordie Howe,who suffered a fractured cheekbone,and a broken nose,along with a serious head injury,when he went head-first in the boards,against Toronto,in opening game of Stanley Cup playoffs,which the Red Wings lost game,5-0
