NHL.com ranks the best players by the number on their sweaters... hockey jerseys are known as sweaters,because they used to wear sweaters,when playing hockey... they ranked Nicklas Lidstrom(number 5),Gordie Howe(number 9),Steve Yzerman(number 19),Henrik Zetterberg(number 40),Sergei Fedorov(number 91),Tomas Holmstrom(number 96),as the best to wear their number... they added Brett Hull(number16),Dominik Hasek(number 39),and Larry Murphy(number 55),to the list,and all played for the Red Wings,but the last three names,grew to fame,on different teams... Hull played for the Calgary Flames,St.Louis Blues,and Dallas Stars,early in career,before playing for the Red Wings... he finished with a handful of games in Phoenix... Hasek played for the Chicago Blackhawks,and Buffalo Sabres,before playing in Detroit,a six time Vezina trophy winner,before winning Stanley Cup,in Detroit... Murphy played in Pittsburgh,with Mario Lemieux,and won two Stanley Cups(1991,and 1992),came to Detroit,and won two more Stanley Cups,in 1997,and 1998... besides playing for Detroit,and Pittsburgh,he played for four other teams:Los Angeles Kings,Washington Capitals,Minnesota North Stars,and just before coming to Detroit,he played for the Toronto Maple Leafs,in a 20 year career...
