on March 26,1997,Detroit beat Colorado 6-5... why note a meaningless regular season game? a severe score was settled,in the eyes of the Avalanche,and the Red Wings,when during a brawl between the Red Wings' Darren McCarty,and the Avalanche's Claude Lemieux,when McCarty pummeled and beat the stuffing out of Lemieux,for a brutal hit on Kris Draper,during the 1996 playoffs... Patrick Roy,of the Avalanche,said that night,"Detroit won the Stanley Cup that night..."
