NHL historical trivia...

on December 8,1987,Ron Hextall became the first goaltender to shoot the puck,into the opposing net for a goal,against the Boston Bruins,with 1:12 left,in the third period,to put the Flyers up 5-2,in a 5-2 Flyers' win... he also scored a short handed goal,against the Washington Capitals,in the 1988-1989 NHL Stanley Cup playoffs,in a 8-5 Flyers' win,on April 11,1989... he and Martin Brodeur,of the New Jersey Devils,are the only goaltenders to have two goals,in their NHL careers... Brodeur scored his two goals this way:against the Montreal Canadiens,in the 1996-1997 NHL Stanley Cup playoffs,in a 5-2 Devils' win,on April 17,1997,and he was credited with game winning goal(last Devil to touch puck,before going into opposing goal),in a 4-2 win over the Philadelphia Flyers,on February 15,2000...
