commentary...
there are Red Wings' fans who may be restless, after two straight losses(and a game, against St. Louis, tonight),and a 4-4-1 start to this 2013 NHL season, and the Red Wings having salary cap space, and nothing being done,it appears,in Detroit,to improve the team... however,i am on the other side of that "so-called" debate, because to bring in a named superstar,to help, most likely, means to give up major talent on both sides of the ice, which can,or can not, help in the long run,of the health of the team... i have to admit that the Red Wings are in a very tough spot,in between a rock, and a hard place, but the overall long term health,of the franchise is more important, than the short term gratification,of a deep playoff run, when the "rent a player" leaves for greener pastures, and leaves Detroit, without the player,or even the young talent traded for him,and then the Red Wings are in for a longer playoff drought than, possibly, for this year... i still remember the "Dead Wings"(very few playoff appearances) decades,of the 1970's,and most of the 1980's,even though they drafted Hall of Fame member Steve Yzerman, during that time... it was miserable,period... so be careful what you wish for,and right now, just be patient...
