commentary,and injury update...

Pavel Datsyuk scored goal,in return from broken wrist, and he did not take a face-off,which means he is not 100% healthy, yet, but he will work on strength, for wrist... he is Red Wings' best face-off man... Jimmy Howard did an adequate job in goal, giving up only two goals,in 47 shots, against the Rangers, keeping Red Wings in game, when they came out very slow,in first period... the reason that i say only "adequate",is that Howard is not having a good year,in goals against average,or goal percentage, like last year, but having Chris Osgood out with a sports hernia, until probably late March(conditioning included),Howard is not really too bad,but not like last year, but it will get better, going on in the season, after Osggod gets back from surgery, and having both for playoffs,is a very big plus, and i do honestly pity the NHL,going into the playoffs, because the Red Wings should be mostly healthy,at that time... i have been grumbling about the Red Wings lately, but i look at the nineteen games, without Datsyuk, the Red Wings were 10-7-2,not bad for for a team, without major stars, for a quarter of a season... Tomas Holmstrom should be back next game,at last account, but with basically the same injury,as Datsyuk,i suspect his hands have to be stronger, because he stands in front of a goaltender, and tip up to 100 mph shots, past goaltender, into the net,so Holmstrom's progress has been slower, but "Homer" will be back shortly, perhaps tomorrow night, against Nashville at home,in Detroit, but he will be back shortly...
