Sam Gagner had an eight point night,as Edmonton Oilers beat the Chicago Blackhawks,8-4,last night... first time,since Wayne Gretzky did it,on January 4,1984,against the Minnesota North Stars,and the first to do it,with a sub-.500,since Peter,and Anton Stastny both did it on same night,in a 11-7 rout,of the Washington Capitals,on February 22,1981... only Mario Lemieux,of the Pittsburgh Penguins,who got eight points,in a game,in a 8-6 win,over the New Jersey Devils,on December 31,1986,had gotten eight points(in a game with eight goals,scored by team),before Gagner did it,last night... next Tuesday is the 36th anniversary,of Darryl Sittler's ten point night,for Toronto Maple Leafs,against Boston,on February 7,1976... side note- i noted in an earlier post,some time ago,the game that Sittler had his ten point night,was against Philadelphia,not Boston... i stand corrected... sorry,folks!!!!
