in 1987,a brawl ensued between Canada,and the Soviet Union,during a game,which lasted twenty minutes... game was declared null and void... funny thing is that the referees tried to shut off the arena lights,to stop the brawl,but the brawl persisted... the IIHF threw out both teams,by a 7-1 vote,with Canada dissenting,and Canada,who was playing for the gold medal,was robbed... Finland won the gold medal,Czechoslovakia won the silver medal,and Sweden,who had been eliminated earlier in tournament,won the bronze medal...
