NCAA history,and commentary...

the 2012 Hobey Baker Award went to Jack Connolly,of the the University of Minnesota-Duluth Bulldogs... the award goes to NCAA's best college hockey player every year,just like the Heisman,for college football... Hobart Amory Hare "Hobey" Baker played at Princeton,played football,and hockey for the Tigers,served in WWI,was awarded the Croix de Guerre,by the government of France... he died in France,on December 21,1918,testing a recently-repaired plane,before leaving France,when his engine failed,after orders were given to go home... he tried to land plane,on runway,but he failed... after being buried in a small French military cemetary,he was buried,again,in 1921,by his mother,in his hometown of Bala Cynwyd,Pennsylvania... somber fact:the Croix de Guerre was awarded to his family,tonight,94 years,after his tragic death,by the government of France...
