Atlantic Division breakdown-New Jersey Devils...
the New Jersey Devils won nine,of the first thirty-four games, last season, and Martin Brodeur had his first losing season,in his NHL career(23-26-3),and the Devils are getting younger,in average team age,but they will go as far as Brodeur,Zach Parise,David Clarkson,Travis Zajac,Patrik Elias, and Ilya Kovalchuk, their $100 million free agent last season, takes them, this season... they,as a team, are getting long in the tooth,in key positions, especially goaltender, even though Brodeur is a money goaltender, overall, with his 625,and counting, wins,he has been injured two of the last three seasons, and was pulled,in critical games, last season... their strengths are goaltender, overall, but weaknesses are a spotty offense, and defense around the net... in the Atlantic Division, they may fight for the playoffs, and the chip on their collective shoulders, may get them there, because New Jersey is actually known,as a defense-first team, and if Brodeur can come back to his best form,in goal, they are in the hunt... will they get there this year? possible, but the Rangers have to be very bad,at the same time, because they will fight the Rangers, for a shot at the playoffs... are they a pretender,or a contender? time will tell...
