Northwest Division breakdown-Colorado Avalanche...

when you have a fourth place team,in your division:how the mighty have fallen, the Avalanche had many problems, scored only 221 goals, all year, last year, was 29th,in NHL overall standings(out of 30 teams, with only 68 points)... they now have a first unit,on the blue line, that averages over 6'2"(tallest player,6'5"),so they will have a ton o' grit(laughing),and have improved their goaltending, with J.S. Giguere, and Semyon Varlimov(from Washington Capitals),and they do have talent with Matt Duchene, and Gabriel Landeskrog, who was first round draft pick... in my opinion, the most talented overall draft pick,in 2011 entry draft, was Landeskrog,so that was a plum pick, for Colorado, but overall the Avalanche have major problems-they have gotten younger at key positions, which is good,in the long run,but in the short run, they do not have enough firepower to score goals, and they gave up 287 goals,on defense, last season(worst in NHL)... that should improve, but overall, when you are 29th,in NHL overall standings(last was Edmonton, with 62 points),you have a huge rebuilding year,in front of you... how the mighty have fallen!!!!!!!
