major NHL signing,and a bit of NHL history...

Chicago Blackhawks re-signed Patrick Sharp to a five year extension,of his contract... he will be a pain in the side,of the Red Wings,for many more years,at least six times a year(they play six games between the teams,a year,not including playoffs)... no big surprises there!!!!!! Stan Bowman,son of former Red Wings',Penguins',and Canadiens' coach,Scotty Bowman(and winner of nine Stanley Cups,as coach,and one,as general manager of the Penguins,in 1992),and who is a Blackhawks' consultant,would have been insane,to trade Sharp,which was rumored to be possible,earlier this off-season...
