Southeast Division breakdown-Florida Panthers...

when you start season,in last place,and by the numbers,35 points out of division lead(Washington Capitals had 107-Panthers had 72),and in the cellar,of division,by eight points,you have to overhaul roster,with anyone... you had a very good goaltender,in Tomas Vokoun,and you replace him with Jose Theodore,that is not an upgrade... unfortunately,for the Panthers,Vokoun went to the division rival Capitals,and will face them six times,during the season... Florida will improve some,battle their way out of the cellar,or hope to,but will not get close to the playoffs... Theodore is not a bad goaltender,but with this roster,the Panthers will be fodder,for most of division... they were the worst team in Eastern Conference,last season,and i see very little improvement in this team... Florida has some talent,and hopes to build,on a good start last season,but injuries took them down... watch for Kris Versteeg,Tomas Kopecky(both from Chicago),and Tomas Fleischmann(from Washington,and Colorado-and a former draft pick of the Red Wings)to make a good impression on the fans... Fleischmann is coming off blood clots,in lungs,played 45 games,between Capitals,and Avalanche... he was a second round selection of the Red Wings,in 2002,was injured in accident,while in Czech Republic,and could not crack the roster of the Red Wings,but is a very good skater,and hope he shows the Panthers' fans,that trait...
