hockey news,and history...

the United States under-18 team won four of the five,including exhibition,but only won once,in regulation,won two,in overtime,lost one in overtime,and lost one,in regulation...(1 win,2 overtime wins,1 overtime loss,and 1 loss),to finish fifth,in the Ivan Hlinka Memorial tournament... Hlinka was one of the great Czech players in hockey history,winning IIHF world titles,in 1972,1976,and 1977;five silver medals,1971,1974,1975,1978,and 1979,and a bronze medal,1973),winning Olympic bronze medal in 1972,and a silver medal,in 1976... he played two years,in NHL,with Vancouver(1981-1982,and 1982-1983),scoring 42 goals,with 81 assists,in 137 games,and appearing in the 1981 Stanley Cup Finals,with Vancouver,against the New York Islanders...
